Natural or Micronized Mud:
Our highest quality primary product is carefully extracted from a premium quality peat bog in Rivière-du-Loup (lower St-Laurence), which is ISO 9001 certified. The peat is extracted from a depth of more than 10 meters bellow the earth in a peat bog that is over 30,000 years old.
The primary product is ground several times to reduce the space between particles and to obtain the proper grading. To process micronized mud, a dynamic airflow is injected in the grinders to reduce the humidity level. Lactopeptids, (proteins), essential oils and other products (if necessary) are injected throughout the process. Samples are taken from each batch and are analysed to guarantee the highest quality. A.W.control is conducted at every stage of the process.
A weight dosage metre is used to set the exact weight of the lot during processing in order to ensure precise final results.
The product is dry and cold-air sterilized.
Product is packaged in bulk in 15 kg boxes or according to the client’s specifications. The container label gives the product name, batch number, expiration date and legal information (when necessary).
Quality Control Operation
A 100g sample is taken and added to the sample bank. It is then identified by a batch number. The packaged product is stored on a plastic film covered pallet. Precautionary measures are taken in order not to mix up or contaminate the products.
Before delivery of bulk products, a bacteriological analysis is conducted and quality control and safety charts are filled out. This procedure is mandatory for every delivery.
